Manganese Carbonate
Manganese Carbonate Introduction
CAS number: 598-62-9
Molecular formula: MnCO3
Molecular weight: 114.95
Manganese Carbonate Properties:
Appearance Rose-colored triangular rhombohedral or amorphous bright white-brown powder.
Specific gravity 3.125.
Practically insoluble in water, but slightly soluble in water containing. Soluble in dilute inorganic acids, slightly soluble in common organic acid salts, and insoluble in liquid ammonia.
Stable in dry air, easy to oxidize when wet, form manganese trioxide and gradually turn black, decompose and release CO2 when heated, and hydrolyze when azeotropic with water. In boiling potassium hydroxide, manganese hydroxide is produced.
Application:
In telecommunications equipment, it is used as a raw material for ferrite. Manganese carbonate is widely used as a desulfurization catalyst, enamel pigment, varnish drier, manganese salt and raw material for catalyst manufacture. Manganese carbonate is also used in fertilizers, medicine, mechanical parts and phosphating. The content of manganese carbonate used in agriculture as a trace element fertilizer can be slightly lower.
