PP Impact Modifier BX CA PP B1 Polypropylene Grafted Maleic Anhydride

Description

PP compatibilizer (B1) is prepared from polypropylene reaction grafted maleic anhydride because it introduces a strongly polar side group (maleic anhydride) on the main chain of polypropylene, so maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene can be used as a bridge to enhance the adhesion and compatibility of polar materials and non-polar materials. In the application of PP+ glass fiber modification, it can react with the surface-treated glass fiber to improve the compatibility of PP and glass fiber, thereby improving the tensile strength and impact strength of polypropylene. The addition of PP compatibilizer in the production of filled polypropylene can greatly improve the affinity of filler and polypropylene and the dispersion of filler. This product can be used as a surface improver for extruded sheets or extruded sheets, which can effectively improve the surface flatness of sheets or plates and eliminate unevenness and pockmarks on the surface of materials.

The reaction principle of PP grafted maleic anhydride with glass fiber

The surface of glass fibers carries active amino groups after surface coupling agent treatment, and when the maleic anhydride group encounters amino molecules, the maleic anhydride ring molecular chain is disconnected to the amino molecules and forms water molecules. This reaction links the molecular chain of maleic anhydride to the glass fiber, so it plays a compatible role.

Polypropylene Grafted Maleic Anhydride Application

1. It can be used as a compatibilizer between inorganic reinforcement materials (glass fiber) and filling materials (calcium carbonate, talc, etc.) and PP;
2. It can be used as a surface improver for PP extruded sheet/plate, which can effectively improve the surface flatness of the material and eliminate the bumps and pockmarks on the surface of the material;
3. It can be used as a compatibilizer for PP/nylon alloy;
4. It can be used as a wood-plastic compatibilizer;
5. It can be used to improve the adhesion between PP and polar materials (metal, nylon, etc.).
