Methyl Methacrylate Butadiene Styrene polymer (MBS) impact modifiers provide superb cold temperature impacts for extrusion, injection molding and calendering. Due to its composition, an MBS impact modifier is used in non-weatherable applications. Both clear and opaque versions of MBS impact modifiers are available. Impact Modifiers are substances that increase the durability of molded or extruded plastics, especially those that need to be constantly subjected to impact forces like cold weather. They are added to compounded materials to provide performance features. They provide strength and break resistance to the product for which they are added. They also provide rigidity to the product to prevent it from wrapping or sagging during everyday use. Impact Modifiers also provide various properties to the product like optical and tensile strength, weather ability, processability, flammability, and heat distortion.
