BX UV NOR 116

Introduction

BX UV NOR 116 is a monomeric N-alkoxy-substituted amino stabilizer (NOR-type HALS) used in polyolefins, serving simultaneously as a halogen-free flame retardant and synergistic agent for halogen-free flame retardancy; it has good transparency, low addition amount, high flame retardancy efficiency, is environmentally friendly without halogens or phosphorus, and possesses UV resistance. Analog to BASF Flamestab NOR 116.

Chemical Name:

Reaction products of N, N’ethane-1,2-diylbis (1,3-propanediamine), cyclohexane, peroxidized 4-butylamino-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine and 2,4,6-trichloro-1 ,3,5-triazine.

Specification:

[CAS No]  191680-81-6
Appearance: off-white to pale red to white crystalline granular solid

Ash content: 0.1% max

Melting point: 108-123°C

Application:

In transparent polypropylene (PP) films, polypropylene fibers, sheets, and narrow bands, 0.5% content of NOR 116 can exhibit excellent halogen-free flame retardancy. The optimal addition ratio can be optimized based on parameters such as thickness, orientation, structure (co-extrusion/non-woven, textiles), and processing conditions. Generally, an additional range of 1.0~2.0% is recommended to meet the EU Building Materials Fire Retardant Standard (B2).
