BX 540A Ethylene acrylic acid copolymer

Introduction

BX 540A wax is an Ethylene acrylic acid (EAA) copolymer in a powdered form,. The molecular chain of this copolymer consists of ethylene units and EAA units. The ethylene units provide the basic polymer backbone, endowing it with certain flexibility and toughness. The EAA units carry active functional groups such as carboxyl groups, and these functional groups can react with other substances through interactions like hydrogen bonds, thereby enhancing the adhesion to various substrates. Features

Demoulding

It has highly efficient demoulding properties. During molding processes such as injection molding, it can form a lubricating film between the mold and the plastic product, reducing the adhesion between the product and the mold. For example, during the injection molding process of PA (polyamide), BX 540A wax can make the molded PA products easier to be ejected from the mold, reducing the defect rate and improving production efficiency.

Compatibility Promotion

It plays a very good role in promoting the compatibility of the system, especially in dealing with the problem of “floating fibers”. In fiber-reinforced engineering plastics, the fibers tend to “float” on the surface of the matrix, affecting the appearance and performance of the products.

Surface Gloss Enhancement:

BX 540A dispersing agent can significantly improve the surface gloss of the products. During the processing of engineering plastics, it can fill the tiny pits on the surface of the products, making the surface smoother.

Enhanced Pigment Dispersion

BX 540A wax exhibits excellent performance in the preparation of masterbatches and the dispersion of pigments in engineering plastics. It can adsorb on the surface of pigment particles, reducing the mutual attraction between pigment particles, enabling the pigments to be evenly dispersed in the plastic matrix. In the production of masterbatches, it can ensure the even distribution of pigments, improving the quality of the masterbatch. During the processing of engineering plastics containing pigments such as PA, PBT, POM, etc., it also helps to evenly disperse the pigments, thus obtaining plastic products with uniform colors.

Application

Masterbatch Dispersion Application

Ethylene acrylic acid copolymer is an important additive in the production of masterbatches. It can help various pigments (such as organic pigments, inorganic pigments) to be evenly dispersed in the carrier resin, ensuring the color uniformity and stability of the masterbatches. By improving the dispersion of pigments, it can also reduce the phenomenon of pigment agglomeration, improving the coloring power and covering power of the masterbatches.

Engineering Plastic Applications

EAA copolymer is widely used in engineering plastics such as PA, PBT, POM. In the injection molding modification of PA, it can not only improve the surface gloss but also improve the demoulding and dispersion properties; in the processing of PBT, it can solve the problem of floating fibers and improve the comprehensive performance of the products; in POM, it is mainly used to improve the surface gloss and pigment dispersion, etc., making these engineering plastics better meet the requirements of different industrial fields for the performance and appearance of plastic products.
